Zobi and the Zoox is a new science-adventure storybook - about microscopic friends inside a coral polyp on the Great Barrier Reef.

A Short Synopsis:

When their coral polyp home is under threat Zobi (a brave rhizobia bacterium), teams up with a family of slow but steady Zoox (zooxanthellae). The ocean gets too hot, the coral is gravely ill and the other bacteria go crazy...so Zobi and the Zoox have to work together to try and save the day.
Written by Ailsa Wild and illustrated by Aviva Reed - Zobi and the Zoox is the second science-adventure story in the Small Friends book series.

Initiated and self-published by Dr. Gregory Crocetti and Briony Barr from Art-Science collective Scale Free Network, the series aims to create beautiful stories about some of the many intimate symbiotic relationships between the very small (microorganisms) and larger forms of life found throughout nature. We also hope these stories draw attention to the fundamental role of cooperation in nature.

Winner of a Puggle (Children's choice) award in the 2015 Environmental Award for Children's Literature and shortlisted for a 2015 Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year award and a 2015 DeBary Outstanding Children's Science Book Award.

We have now created an Audiobook - narrated by the author Ailsa Wild with score by Brainbeau - to accompany the story. Free through SoundCloud.
